Wild Wood Country Club - Course Layout

Number 1 - Par 4 - HCP 15
The starting hole requires an accurate tee-shot to an extremely narrow fairway.  A medium to short iron second shot to one of the smallest greens on the course.  The green is sneaky fast going from front to back.  A real factor when the flagstick is cut up front.  You need to avoid going over the green.

Number 2 - Par 4 - HCP 1
The number one handicap hole and the longest par 4 on the course.  The tee-shot is played from an elevated tee box to a fairway lined with trees on both sides.  A medium to long iron second shot to a two tiered green.  Any shot over the green will end up in a water hazard.

Number 3 - Par 5 - HCP 5
A relatively short par 5. The entire left side of  the hole is lined with a hazard. A well struck tee shot will yield the opportunity to go for the green in two. If one chooses to lay up the fairway is guarded by two fairway bunkers 90 yards from the green. Once on the green your work is not done. The green slopes from back to front and from right to left, giving many difficult hole locations.

Number 4 - Par 4 - HCP 13
One of the easier par 4's on the golf course.  A slight dog-leg left.  A tee-shot ending up in the left rough will most likely end up in a lay-up shot to the middle of the fairway due to a row of tall oak trees 100 yards from the green.  A well place tee shot to the right center side of the fairway is a must on this hole.  This green is sloped from back to front so a putt from above the hole is no gimmie.

Number 5 - Par 3 - HCP 17
Probably the easiest par 3 on the course.  Medium range iron to one of the largest greens on the course.  A well place iron shot is key due to the undulations in the green.

Number 6 - Par 5 - HCP 7

The longest hole on the course measuring 524 yards.  This hole is guarded by out of bounds and a pond up the left side of the hole until about 70 yards from the green.  Club selection is a must on the approach to this very large green.

Number 7 - Par 4 - HCP 11
This hole is straight uphill.  The green is approximately 100 feet above the tee box.  A middle to short iron to an extremely narrow green.  The green is about 20 feet front to back.  A solid tee shot is a must in order to hold the green.

Number 8 - Par 3 - HCP 9
One of the prettiest holes on the course.  The 213 yard par 3 is straight down hill.  An elevation drop of almost 100 feet to a large green with 3 different tiers.  Proper club selection is a must or a 3 putt is looking you right in the face.

Number 9 - Par 4 - HCP 3
The second toughest hole on the front nine.  I slight dog-leg right to a slightly elevated green.  A long to middle iron approach shot to a green with a bunker guarding the left side and a steep slope to the right.  Another demanding iron shot to a very undulating green.  A great finishing hole for the front nine.

Number 10 - Par 4 - HCP 16
One of the easiest holes on the back nine.  A dog-leg right with OB up the entire left side and over the green.  A well place tee shot over the corner of the trees will result in a short iron into a small green that is very difficult to hold.  You must take advantage of this hole because they only get harder the rest of the way around the back nine.

Number 11 - Par 4 - HCP 4
A sharp dog leg left from an elevated tee box.  This is a risk reward hole.  A tee shot played straight out of the tee to the 150 yard marker is the smart play but, a long well hit tee shot can be played slightly over the corner resulting in a very short iron in to the small green.  Accuracy is a must for the approach shot.  The green is protected by water on the right and left side as well as behind the green.

Number 12 - Par 4 - HCP 2
The toughest hole on the back nine.  Some members consider this the toughest hole on the golf course.  The tee shot must carry over a creek to the fairway but, stay short of the creek that crosses the fairway again.  The approach shot with a middle iron must then carry over the creek to an elevated green that slopes severely from front to back.

Number 13 - Par 3 - HCP 18
The shortest hole on the golf course measuring only 141 yards from the back tee.  This may be the most intimidating shot on the course.  A shot that does not hit the green will most likely end up in the water.  The only place to miss the green is short.

Number 14 - Par 4 - HCP 12
The most straight forward hole on the course.  There is no trick to this one.  A tee shot to the top of the hill leaves an approach shot of 150 yards.  A well hit tee shot will result in a short iron into a deep green.

Number 15 - Par 4 - HCP 10
The handicap rating of 10 does not give this hole the respect it deserves.  A sharp dog leg left with water up the entire left side.  A good tee shot is a must.  A miss hit tee shot will result in a tough approach shot due to a large tree on the corner of the dog leg.  The green is surrounded my water except in front of the green.  This is one of the toughest holes on the course.

Number 16 - Par 4 - HCP 6
Don't let this short hole fool you.  At only 331 yards from the back tee this hole gives headaches to everyone who plays it.  A short iron approach to a green that is severely sloped from back to front.  With OB only 5 yards off the back of the green most players come up short on their approach.  Once on the green the game begins.  There is not an easy putt on this green.  Take your 2 putt and go to the next hole!

Number 17 - Par 3 - HCP 8
This signature hole at Wild Wood and one of the prettiest holes in Monroe County.  This 208 yard tee shot from an elevate tee (100 feet above the green) to a green completely surrounded by water is one of the most intimidating shots in golf.  Club selection is important due to the size of the green.  A par 3 is a great score on this hole.

Number 18 - Par 5 - HCP 14
The finishing hole is the shortest par 5 on the course and is reachable in 2 for even the average golfer.  A nice relaxing ending to a round after seven straight holes with water hazards.  This is a slight dog leg left but, since it is a par 5 the tee shot can simply be played straight down the fairway.  A tee shot getting over the crest of the hill will yield the opportunity to go for it in 2.
